These terms and conditions apply to all activities organized by Quasimundo Bike Tours Bruges (“Quasimundo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By making a reservation, the participant declares to have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
1. Participation in the activity
Participation in a Quasimundo bike tour is at your own risk and with due regard for the risks associated with cycling in traffic and participating in a guided bike tour.
The participant declares that he/she has sufficient experience and skill to ride a bicycle independently and safely.
Cycling proficiency is required for all our bike tours. Our guides cannot safely supervise a participant who lacks sufficient cycling proficiency. For safety reasons, Quasimundo may decide in such cases that the participant cannot take part in the activity. In this case, there is no right to a refund if the participant proves unable to cycle safely at the start of the activity.
The participant must follow the guide’s instructions and behave responsibly and safely at all times.
Quasimundo reserves the right to refuse participation or terminate participation if a participant’s behavior, condition, or cycling proficiency poses a danger to themselves, other participants, the guide, or third parties.
2. Responsibility and liability
The participant acknowledges that cycling, particularly in traffic and in an urban environment, involves certain risks.
Quasimundo is not liable for damage, loss, or injury resulting from the participant’s failure to comply with the guide’s instructions, traffic rules, or these terms and conditions, or from circumstances reasonably beyond Quasimundo’s control.
The participant remains responsible for his/her personal belongings during the activity. Quasimundo is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings, except when this is the result of a fault for which Quasimundo is legally liable.
3. Traffic rules and behavior
The participant must comply with all applicable traffic rules and legal regulations.
The participant must follow the guide’s instructions and behave in a safe, respectful, and responsible manner towards other participants, guides, road users, and third parties.
The participant may not participate in the activity if alcohol, drugs, medication, or any other condition affects his/her ability to cycle safely.
4. Start time and lateness
Participants are asked to be present at the agreed meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
The tour departs at the scheduled time. Quasimundo can wait a maximum of 5 minutes for latecomers (provided they notify us by phone). If a participant is not present after that, it will be considered a no-show.
A participant who arrives late and consequently misses the start of the tour is not entitled to a refund or compensation.
5. Bicycles and equipment
The bicycles used during the tour are provided by Quasimundo. The use of the bicycle is included in the price of the activity, unless stated otherwise.
The participant may be held liable for damage to or loss of equipment when this damage or loss is the result of intentional or negligent behavior, to the extent permitted by law.
6. Duration and course of the tour
The indicated duration and route of a tour are indicative. Quasimundo may adjust the route, stops, or the course of the activity when necessary due to traffic situations, roadworks, weather conditions, safety reasons, local events, or other circumstances.
Such changes do not in themselves entitle the participant to a refund if the activity can essentially be carried out.
7. Weather conditions
The bike tours always go ahead, rain or shine.
When weather conditions pose a safety risk that prevents the activity from reasonably taking place, Quasimundo may decide to adjust, postpone, or cancel the activity.
If Quasimundo cancels the activity itself, the participant will be informed as soon as possible and, depending on the circumstances and applicable law, an appropriate alternative or refund will be offered.
8. Food and drinks
Food and drinks purchased or consumed during any stops are not included in the price, unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of reservation.
9. Reservation and payment
A reservation is final once it has been confirmed by Quasimundo or via the booking platform used.
The price displayed at the time of reservation is the price applicable to the reservation, subject to obvious pricing errors.
10. Cancellation by the participant
The participant can cancel the activity. The time at which the cancellation is received determines the applicable refund amount.
Standard cancellation policy: shared tours
- More than 48 hours before departure: full refund of the amount paid.
- Between 24 and 48 hours before departure: refund of 50% of the total booking amount.
- Less than 24 hours before departure: no refund.
- No-show: no refund.
When a booking was made through an external booking partner, such as GetYourGuide, Viator, or others, the cancellation policy of that booking partner may apply if it takes precedence over Quasimundo’s terms.
Trip Protection Upgrade – exclusively for shared tours
If the participant has added a Trip Protection Upgrade to the reservation, the participant can cancel the booking free of charge up to 1 hour before departure.
In that case, the booking amount will be fully refunded, with the exception of the non-refundable cost of the Trip Protection Upgrade.
The Trip Protection Upgrade is only available for shared tours when this option is offered during the booking process.
11. Cancellation by Quasimundo
If Quasimundo cancels an activity before it starts, the participant will be informed as soon as possible.
Depending on the reason for the cancellation, Quasimundo may offer an alternative date or activity. If the activity cannot be carried out and no alternative is accepted, the amount paid by the participant will be refunded, as required by law.
In circumstances beyond Quasimundo’s reasonable control, including exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, the execution of the activity may be adjusted or cancelled.
12. Photos and visual material
Photos or video recordings may be taken during Quasimundo activities.
Quasimundo may use such visual material for its communication and marketing purposes, including its website, social media, brochures, and other promotional channels, to the extent permitted by law.
If a participant does not wish to appear recognizably in such visual material, he/she can report this to Quasimundo or the guide before the start of the activity.
13. Personal data
Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and Quasimundo’s privacy policy.
14. No general right of withdrawal
For activities carried out on a specific date or during a specific period, no general legal 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers applies, provided the legal exception for services related to leisure activities is applicable.
The cancellation policy above therefore determines the applicable commercial cancellation options, without prejudice to mandatory legal consumer rights.
15. Complaints
Any problems or complaints during the activity must be reported to the guide or Quasimundo as soon as possible, so that we have the opportunity to resolve the problem during the activity.

16. Applicable law
These terms and conditions and the agreement between the participant and Quasimundo are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply to the participant.
Disputes will be handled by the competent courts in accordance with applicable Belgian legislation.
